Every custom insert we make starts as a solid block of foam, and every piece we cut away to cradle your product leaves usable foam behind. At a lot of shops, those offcuts head straight to the dumpster. At FoamCraft, they head to the pelletizer.
How the loop works.
Collect
The foam trimmed away during cutting is gathered up instead of thrown out.
Pelletize
It's fed into our pelletizer, which breaks it down into small, consistent pellets.
Reuse
Pellets are then extruded into new foam sheets that contain recycled content.
The same foam that protected one shipment goes on to help protect the next.
Great for packaging. Tough on landfills, so we skip that part.
Foam earns its place in packaging by being light, clean, and durable. Those are exactly the traits that make it a poor fit for a landfill. By pelletizing and reincorporating our own offcuts, we keep good material in use, get more value out of every block we buy, and cut down on the waste our shop sends away, all without ever compromising on protection.
That reclaimed material comes back as usable stock. Pellets are extruded into new foam sheets that contain recycled content, so foam that left the saw as an offcut returns ready for the next job.
